Finally the Seattle Seahawks make their long awaited comeback by championing the 60th Superbowl, their second win in the history of the team. Seattle's previous Super Bowl triumph came against the Denver Broncos in 2014, when they were powered by the head coach, Pete Carol, and the infamous Legion of Boom comprised of Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor, and Brandon Browner. Almost 12 years later however, we see a whole new lineup that promises more victories in the future. The Seahawks’s newest defense dream team has been coined “The Dark Side”, led by the key members Leonard Williams, Jarran Reed, DeMarcus Lawrence, and Ernest Jones IV. The teams’ defense shut out the Patriots for the first three quarters, securing the win.

The victory makes head coach Mike Macdonald the sixth head coach in the last 40 years to win the Super Bowl in his first or second NFL season. Macdonald previously served as the defensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens from 2022 to 2023, then became head coach of the Seahawks in 2024. Now in 2026, at the age of 38, he has secured his title as the 3rd youngest head coach to ever win the Superbowl. After the win on Sunday, Macdonald had this to say about his team, “We never waver, man. We believe in each other. We love each other, and now we're world champions,".
But of course when it comes to the Superbowl, the game itself is only half the show. Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, or as he’s known by millions around the world, Bad Bunny, performed the Superbowl Halftime Show, and it did not disappoint fans. They even got a few celebrity guest appearances as Pedro Pascal, Cardi B, Karol G and Jessica Alba were all seen dancing outside Bad Bunny's casita.

During the performance, Benito wasn't the only singer to take the stage, however. Lady Gaga was the first guest to make an appearance, performing her hit, "Die With a Smile," that she put a Spanish twist on. Lady Gaga has now performed at the Super Bowl three times, once as the national anthem singer, once as a halftime show headliner and now as a halftime show guest. In an additional musical surprise appearance, fellow Puerto Rican born superstar singer Ricky Martin joined Bad Bunny in song during the halftime performance. After Bad Bunny won his Grammy for Album of the year just last week, Martin had this to say about Benito, “You won without changing the color of your voice. You won without erasing your roots. You won by staying true to Puerto Rico".

Bad Bunny’s historic halftime performance wasn’t just full of musical wonder, it also had a plethora of easter eggs for fans to discover. Aside from suave showmanship and feel-good Latin rhythms, the set itself told many stories. Benito, who was born Bayamón, used a backdrop that resembled the island’s famous sugar cane fields to bring the audience to Puerto Rico with him. Throughout his walk around, background dancers were seen enjoying Puerto Rican cuisine such as coco frio and piraguas. The singer, while performing the dembow-influenced opener of "Debí Tirar Más Fotos," walked in front of a New York-inspired street set that included a storefront reading "La Marqueta". Bad Bunny turned up the energy, but kept the political consciousness going, with the next song "El Apagón," a club banger that references Puerto Rico's economic issues with the island's electrical system. As he stood next to and climbed up a set of faux power lines onstage, they quickly exploded to illustrate the island's frequent power outages.
While it’s estimated that Bad Bunny’s performance garnered roughly 135 million views, the alternative show did not compare well. The nonprofit organization Turning Point USA, co-founded by the late, right-wing political activist Charlie Kirk, put on its own, alternative halftime show, which it dubbed the "All-American Halftime Show." The pre-taped performance featured Kid Rock, Lee Brice, Brantley Gilbert and Gabby Barrett. It streamed on platforms including Rumble, DailyWire+, and multiple YouTube channels. The "All-American Halftime Show" drew as many as 6.1 million concurrent viewers on Turning Point USA's YouTube Channel, The Athletic reported.

President Trump did not comment directly on the concert (with reports saying he didn’t even tune in) but chose to instead rant about Bad Bunny’s performance on Truth Social. Trump said on Truth Social approximately 30 minutes after the performance ended, the following:
At the end of the day, it’s great to celebrate that the Seattle Seahawks have reclaimed their title, and Bad Bunny is still a global phenomenon; but the very people that were championing the TPUSA event and making racists remarks towards Bad Bunny, are the very same people that are supporting an administration whose leader is cited in the Epstein files doing inhuman things to underage girls.
